So I thought I would.
Hugh and I interviewed Johnathan Prest and that will be filling up 3 pages in the magazine.
We also now have two more articles one about spain one about tiquando and I know I've spelt that wrong.
My random thoughts article on human cloning is written and the layout has been done for that. Also hugh's article is ready to be layed out as is Natalies gig review.
I hope to have the beginings of a front cover/contents page this Thursday.
See you all then. - Is anyone reading this?

13th December
Hello all!
Yet again it was a cosy meeting with just Martin and me, although Hamza popped in for a chat. Martin and I have mocked up a copy of the magazine, so that we know what we need from people.
Martin is designing the cover and the contents page. He is also doing a single page on 'random thoughts' and three pages on TV 2008.
Hugh - we have allowed a double page spread for your social networking article. If you have any particular images that you would like included, please let me know. We have also allowed a double page spread for your article on the French exchange. (Perhaps you could develop this to discuss the decline in exchange programmes as a consequence of parental fears?)
Lauren - we have allowed a double page spread for your photography work and a single page for an exhibition review
Natalie - we have allowed a single page for a gig review
Tomasz - we have allocated you a page
Bryony - we have allocated two pages to GAP - please let us know if you need more.
Hamza - single page article on taekwando and single page article on Barcelona (in simple Spanish)
There will be a page asking for questions to put to the principal for the next issue and also a page advertising the next issue and encouraging other people to get involved.
Advertising:
we have had interest from the following people:
- redLdriving tuition (half page)
- Diamond Drive (half page)
- MCM driving school (quarter page)
- Complete School of Motoring are considering a full page advert
- Bournemouth University have agreed to a full page advert.
We need to sell at least four more full pages to make the necessary money - any ideas for potential advertisers?
Article on university - anyone?
Article on Tanzania and fundraising?
Sports article?
Double page spread on New York?
Please write your articles as quickly as possible, as we need them straight after Christmas!
Thanks,
Tamsyn

Minutes 22/11/07
Where was everyone?
Martin and I contacted all of the local universities about advertising. We reconsidered advertising prices and have now amended them:
A4 - £150
A5 - £80
A6 - £45
We also contacted NUS and will be aiming to contact more potential advertisers in the next week or so. We are hoping to hear back from local universities by 14th December.

Layout (ish)
Greetings!
When I'm done, the layout and design of this blog will mirror the one I am creating for the Trash website which I hope to sort out in the next couple of weeks.
This one will do for now though, at least its black and has the new Trash logo.

Welcome and minutes
Welcome to the Trash Magazine blog.
Meeting minutes (15/11/07)
In the last meeting we talked about what articles we could include in the next issue of the magazine and came up with the following list:
Hamza - an article in Spanish? Perhaps also something on taekwando
Hugh - social networking article (completed), French exchange article
Martin - random thoughts, and a film review
Lauren - exhibitions, film and concert reviews, and photography
Natalie - gig reviews - who have you seen recently, and do you have any photos?
Tomasz - an article in Polish?
Katie - theatre review (Perhaps Faustus?)
David Lilly - game reviews?
Bryony - GAP article?
Sports - do you know anyone who would like to write about college sports? (I have e-mailed Jo Bull, Sharon Cruse and Kristian Still to try to rustle up a sports journalist!)
Student Union - I have asked Kerry Pringle to speak to the TSU about an article
Tanzania - I have asked KPR to speak to relevant stundets about writing an article on fundraising for Tanzania
It was suggested that maybe a list of questions that students want to ask Jonathan Prest (Principal) could be compiled, so that we can feature an interview with him. (If this is not possible, it might be possible to interview Glenda Gardiner or Kerry Pringle).
Another suggested article was an interview with John Denham - we need to compile questions for this and find someone who wants to do it!
An article about university - any volunteers?
New York Trip - I will ask students at the next meeting.
I have asked ARA (Aine Rand) for some booklets on how to use In-Design.
I was hoping to contact relevant advertisers, but have not managed to do that yet. Previously, we agreed advertising prices. The magazine will be seen by students, teachers, other staff, parents and potential students.
Relevant advertisers:
Universities - Solent, Southampton, Winchester, Bournemouth, Portsmouth, Chichester.
Local shops - Papa John's, Dominos, driving instructors, LA Fitness, Shakeaway, banks, Polish shops
32 page magazine x 1000 copies = approx. £1000
£100 - TSU
£250 - marketing?
50p per copy
500 copies = £250
£400 from advertising
We need to apply for funds from the Student Union.
Please nag your friends to write something or come to the meetings!
